Selling Perks
Point of Sale Integration

One tap at the till. That’s the whole flow.

No new hardware. No new register. The Lovalty Merchant app sits on the iPad or phone you already use — and slots in next to whatever payments setup you’re running today.

Designed for the till, not the boardroom

Acceptance that doesn’t slow the queue.

A Perk redemption has to be faster than a card tap, or staff will route around it. We built Lovalty acceptance to clear in under three seconds — measured at peak, on a five-year-old phone.

Behind that single tap sits a closed-loop ledger: the customer’s balance, your obligation, and the merchant-side cash position update atomically. There is no race condition, no half-redeemed Perk, no phone call to support at 8.04am on a Monday.

The Till Flow

Four taps. Maybe three. Often two.

Same sequence whether the customer is buying their first Perk or redeeming their last unit on a five-bundle they bought six weeks ago.

  1. Customer presents a code

On approach, the customer opens Lovalty and shows a rotating QR or taps a phone-to-phone NFC handshake. The Perk surfaces at the top of their wallet — staff don’t need to know it’s there, the customer already does.

  2. Staff scans, sees the basket

The Lovalty Merchant app shows the customer’s active Perks alongside what’s on the till — staff confirms which units to apply with one tap. No paper voucher to inspect, no expiry to eyeball, no margin maths to do in their head.

  3. One tap to redeem

Confirm draws down the units, prints the line item to your receipt printer if you have one, and writes the redemption to the customer’s ledger and yours — atomically. Average flow time: under three seconds.

  4. Optionally splits with your till

Running Square, Lightspeed, Toast, or Epos Now? Lovalty pushes the redemption as a structured line item so reconciliation is clean. Running on paper? The merchant app is your shift report and z-read, ready to email at close.

Side-by-side, not rip-and-replace

Live happily next to your current till.

Lovalty doesn’t want to be your card processor. We want to be the loyalty layer that sits cleanly alongside whatever you use today — Square, Stripe, Adyen, Worldpay, Lightspeed, Toast, SumUp, or the paper book in the drawer.

For dedicated integrations we expose webhooks for every Perk lifecycle event (sold, redeemed, refunded, expired), a typed REST API for inventory and customer lookups, and a small embeddable widget if you’d rather render the Perks panel inside your own POS UI. Documentation, sandbox keys, and a code-of-conduct in 12 minutes flat.

Built for the staff who actually use it

Trainable in a single shift.

No new vocabulary, no SKU mapping, no manager override codes. The Merchant app is built around three verbs — sell, redeem, refund — and reads in the language your team already speaks.

New starters get a 90-second video, a sandbox account, and a checklist. We measure “time-to-first-correct-redemption” for every new till operator, and we ship updates to keep that number under two minutes. You shouldn’t have to retrain your team every time we ship a feature.

Resilient by default

It works when the WiFi doesn’t.

The Merchant app caches the current day’s redemptions locally. If your connection drops mid-shift, redemptions still complete — they queue, reconcile when you come back online, and the customer never sees a stall.

We rebuild our acceptance path on every release against a chaos harness that simulates 250ms latency spikes, dropped sockets, and full network partitions. Your queue at lunch deserves better than a spinner.

A 20-minute install, on your own till.

A Lovalty engineer will pair with you over video, get the Merchant app on your existing device, run a test redemption with a real card, and leave you with a one-page staff guide.
